Radical Realignment, Shocking Truths & Soulful Connections
By Shanna Cross | Apogee of the Moon
August brings a mix of grounding earth, activating air, and a whole lot of friction that forces clarity, whether we’re ready for it or not. With powerful oppositions, and squares, mixed with harmonious trines and sextiles, activating nearly every planet, this month is anything but passive. Below, I’ve organized the forecast into four clear sections: Transits, Ingresses, Stations, and Lunations, so you can move through the energy with grounded awareness.
🔥 Major Transits
August 1 – Venus in Cancer squares Saturn & Neptune
This is a potent day for emotional clarity, or disillusionment. Venus in Cancer wants connection, comfort, and home. But with simultaneous squares to Saturn and Neptune, we may feel a push-pull between emotional vulnerability and hard emotional boundaries. Creative energy runs high, but only if we can ground it in something tangible. There’s also the potential for confronting confusion around mother figures or family dynamics.
August 8 – Mars trine Uranus + Mars opposes Saturn
A real tension-release pattern. The trine to Uranus opens the door to unexpected solutions, bold actions, and out-of-the-box moves. But Saturn pushes back, demanding accountability. Mars in Libra wants to collaborate; Saturn in Aries wants independence. If you’re stuck between compromise and assertion, let Uranus offer a third option you hadn’t considered.
August 10 – Mars trine Pluto (Libra to Aquarius)
This is a deep and potent influence. Think powerful conversations, magnetic interactions, and a sharp awareness of how action affects power dynamics. With Mars also still in trine to Uranus, this is high-level mental energy and social momentum. You can use this energy for breakthroughs in partnerships or clarity on what motivates your decisions.
August 11 – Saturn sextile Uranus (exact)
Old systems meet new insights. This can show up in the collective (tech, military, government) but also personally: how do you build something durable out of a wild idea? Stability and innovation aren’t mutually exclusive today.
August 12 – Venus conjunct Jupiter in Cancer
Soft, indulgent, and emotionally full. Nesting is highlighted, being with people you love, feeling at home, or treating yourself with the comforts you crave. It’s a beautiful day for celebration or shared joy, but beware of overdoing it.
August 14 & 18 – Mars and Mercury in mutual sextile
A rare back-and-forth between Mars and Mercury due to Mercury’s slow pace. On the 14th, Mars initiates; on the 18th, Mercury follows up. This creates a rhythm of acting, then speaking, then adjusting. A conversation or decision from the 14th gets refined or revisited on the 18th.
August 15 – Venus trine North Node (Cancer to Pisces)
A heartfelt alignment that feels fated. This could involve nurturing figures, soulful connection, or relationships that align with where your spirit is being pulled. The people who show up today might matter more than you think.
August 24 – Sun in Virgo squares Uranus
This is a nervous system zap. Virgo governs health, routine, digestion, and purification. Uranus brings sudden insight or disruption. A health scare? A breakthrough? A panic moment followed by a plan? Watch your stress levels and ground your body. Adaptogens and hydration help here.
August 25–27 – Venus trines Saturn + Neptune, sextiles Uranus, opposes Pluto
The back half of the month turns relational dynamics up to 11. Venus wants connection. Saturn says: earn it. Neptune blurs the lines. Uranus adds shock. Pluto? Power struggles and shadow work. These days could reveal surprising truths in love, creativity, or money, especially where control or fear have been hiding.
August 28 – Neptune sextile Uranus (exact)
A perfect harmony between mysticism and innovation. This is the second outer planet sextile of the month and continues the theme of change with grace. It’s visionary, open-minded, and filled with strange but beautiful potential.
♈ Planetary Ingresses
- August 6 – Mars enters Libra
Diplomacy becomes the method of action. The heat cools, but the strategy sharpens. - August 22 – Sun enters Virgo
Time to refine, edit, heal, and organize. We’re heading toward eclipse season, and the light is now shining on the details. - August 25 – Venus enters Leo
Relationships take center stage. Love becomes bold again, expressive, proud, and a little dramatic. Connection needs flair now.
🔄 Planetary Stations & Shadow Periods
- August 11 – Mercury stations direct
Miscommunications and delays begin to unravel. Answers surface, though clarity may be a bit slow to follow. - August 25 – Mercury leaves the shadow
Now we’re moving. If something stalled or got tangled during the retrograde, this is when the knots get untied and the new version of the plan becomes clear.
🌕 Lunations
August 9 – Full Moon in Aquarius (17°)
This Full Moon is a moment of stark contrast. The Sun in Leo stands proud while the Moon in Aquarius detaches, analyzes, and reflects. There are no exact major aspects to this lunation, but its proximity to Pluto is significant. Emotional breakthroughs, power dynamics, and final decisions all feature. There’s tension between self and society, between showing up and pulling back. Expect insights that come with a side of discomfort.
August 23 – New Moon in Virgo (0°)
This New Moon launches a clean slate, but not without disruption. It squares Uranus, so change is embedded into the seed. Something surprising, maybe even jarring, calls us to realign our daily systems. Mercury is just about to leave its shadow, so we’re reworking what we thought we knew. This lunation sets the tone for clarity after chaos, truth after re-evaluation. It’s the beginning of the end of the retrograde fog.
Final Thoughts
August isn’t light. But it’s clarifying. With Venus and Mars touching nearly every outer planet and Mercury reorienting our path, we’re preparing for something bigger. Relationships shift. Truth surfaces. Systems get a jolt. The energy may be intense, but it’s not here to destroy. It’s here to rewire.
We’re building the next version of ourselves. And it begins now.
